I Quit…

Sometimes letting go looks like loss—but it feels like freedom

Recently, I made the decision to close a business I had poured myself into for seven years.

Not because I had to, and not because it was failing, but because I realized something deeply important: even though I loved fashion, the business no longer aligned with my greater purpose. In fact, it was starting to get in the way of me fully stepping into the work I now know I’m meant to do.

For a long time, I resisted the thought of walking away. I kept telling myself the same thing we’ve all been conditioned to believe: “I’m not a quitter.” That phrase had become part of my identity. But somewhere along the way, my perspective shifted. I started asking better questions. I started thinking less about what I was leaving behind and more about what I was making room for.

What if letting go isn’t quitting—what if it’s a realignment with purpose?

That single question gave me the clarity I didn’t know I needed. I stopped shaming myself for needing change and started listening to the quiet inner knowing that said, “This chapter has served its purpose. Now it’s time to turn the page.”

The truth is, I had no idea what would come next. I wrestled with that unknown for a long time. But when I finally felt a deep sense of confirmation that closing the business was the right step, I experienced a peace I can’t explain. And from that moment on, the path ahead became surprisingly clear.

“When you release what’s no longer meant for you, life has a way of making space for what is.”

Since walking away, I’ve seen things fall into place in a way they never could have if I had stayed. New opportunities have come forward. Doors have opened. I feel more aligned than I’ve felt in years—not just professionally, but spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

So yes, I still hear that old voice from time to time whispering, “You’re not a quitter.” But now, I know better. Now, I choose to evaluate every decision through the lens of purpose. If it doesn’t align, I let it go. If it feels forced, I release it. If it blocks the path I know I’m called to, I shift my focus toward something greater.

I share all of this because I know what it’s like to stay in something too long—whether it’s a business, a spending habit, a relationship, or a mindset—just because it once made sense. Just because it once felt good. Just because walking away feels like failure.

But what if it’s not failure at all?

What if it’s faith?

If something in your life no longer aligns with who you are or where you're going, I want to remind you: you’re allowed to change. You’re allowed to pivot. You’re allowed to release the things that no longer reflect your purpose—even if they once did.

Letting go doesn’t mean you’ve lost. It means you’re making space for what was always meant to find you.

Are you ready to make space for what’s next in your life?

If you're standing in that same in-between space—maybe with your finances, your business, or just your direction in life—I want to invite you into something deeper. I offer free clarity calls for those who are ready to stop striving and start living with purpose.

It’s not just about getting out of debt. It’s about getting out of the patterns that keep you stuck, and stepping into the life you were made for.

Because when you release what’s no longer for you, you give yourself the freedom to walk boldly into what is.
